TWP Shake and Shingle Sealant Product BulletinSubject: South Florida Exposure Results on T-111 Cedar
After 12 Months, South 45 Degree Exposure
201 Cedartone Although TWP/201 HD CEDARTONE has been our mainstay for 5 years, we have continued research to extend color retention in all TWP products. 201 HD is totally transparent, whereas the other colors are a little more opaque. They are all based on the 201 HD formulation. We have known for some time that blends of 201 and 203 have superior color retention over 201 itself. The objection by some has been that the 203 Gold is too yellow on aging. We have also had many requests for deeper browner colors which provide more coverage over non uniform surfaces. The testing program, as can be observed in the photographs, has produced two outstanding additions, 206 RUSSETT BROWN and 207 BUTTERNUT BROWN. The upper third of the panel was under the protective flap of the test rack. We and the independent testing service feel that the overall results exceed expectations. The test location south of Miami, FL is generally considered 4 times as severe, regarding UV and mildew, as a typical midwest climate. All products at this time exhibit excellent mildew resistance. 202
